| Dorset Cricket | |
For the development of youth cricket in Dorset, District cricket was first introduced in 1997. It is played at six age groups from U10 to U15 between East, North, West and South Districts. Sides are selected on merit from past records and those boys who have done well at winter sessions and indoor matches. Children are recommended by clubs and schools but it is never too late for a boy to be considered.
From Dorchester and Weymouth west to the county boundary.
Sherborne to Blandford and all points North.
Purbeck, Puddletown, Bere Regis, Wimborne, Poole, Corfe Mullen and Spetisbury.
Bournemouth, Christchurch, Ferndown, Cranborne and Verwood.
This year a bonus points system has been introduced:-
1. 10 points will be awarded to the winning team.
2. 1 bowling point will be awarded for every 2 wickets taken, with a maximum of 5 points awarded if all available wickets are taken.
3. Batting points will be awarded as follows:-
Under 10's - 1 point for 50 runs, 2 points for 75 runs, 3 points for 100 runs, 4 points for 125 runs and 5 points for 150 runs.
Under 11's/12's and 13's - 1 point for 75 runs, 2 points for 100 runs, 3 points for 125 runs, 4 points for 150 runs and 5 points for 175 runs.
Under 14's and 15's - 1 point for 100 runs, 2 points for 125 runs, 3 points for 150 runs, 4 points for 175 runs and 5 points for 200 runs.
The League tables are shown for each age group under the appropriate fixtures.
