| The
Chamber Choir "Les Sylvestrins", directed by Shane Fletcher, has been
giving highly acclaimed and very popular concerts of sacred music for
the Festival of the Armistice in Samouillan since the group's formation
in November 2003. We are lucky to have the support and skill of some of the finest amateur singers from London and elsewhere in Britain, as well as accomplished singers resident in France and Italy, who as individuals have performed all over the world with many famous groups, including the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, Corydon Singers, Joyful Company of Singers, Tallis Chamber Choir, New London Chamber Choir and the Holst Singers. Many of them also sing regularly for services in the great London churches, and in Cathedrals elsewhere in Britain. Many of our singers are also accomplished instrumentalists, and we take advantage of this in presenting music that includes instruments appropriate to the period and style. The size of the group is flexible, according to the music and the occasion.
