A first for Snakeskin this month, with the inclusion of soundtracks to accompany three of the poems. An experiment, really, to make sure that we could do it, even with the most basic recording equipment (and that excellent free software, the Audacity recording programme).
We'd like to hear from anyone who finds that the recordings don't work from them - they seem to be good in  Internet Explorer, but Firefox may need plugins. Are they OK on a Mac, or on geeky Linux-type systems? Let us know.
Apologies to anyone who gets a sense of deja-vu. Yes, two of the poems are not of recent vintage, and can indeed be found in my Essay on Rhyme collection. They just seemed to be suitable ones to try out in front of the microphone.
We're hoping to include more sound files in future. Maybe even some videos. Watch this space.
I'd very much like to hear from poets offering sound versions - but please contact me first, before sending several megabytes of .mp3 files as an email attachment. We need to sort out technicalities before any recordings can be considered.

Keep sending text poems as well. They will always be our first priority.

George

By the way -

Do make it clear that you're sending poems. I get so much junk mail with surreal titles these days that I delete quite a lot unread. There's only so much of your life you can spend reading adverts for Viagra, or business proposals from Nigerians. Put "poems" or "poetry" or "Snakeskin" in the subject line, and the mail will get through.
