Wedding Gift List

This list is relatively limited, as having lived together for the last few years, we already have most things we need to make our lives comfortable, and not much extra room in the house for new stuff. This is why in the list below our preference is for either the charity donation or the Explore vouchers.

Alison's brother Nick Fox, and his wife Cath, have kindly agreed to coordinate our wedding present list. Details of how to contact him have been included in the letter with your invitation. Please check with Nick about availability of gifts, and tell him if you buy anything from this list, so that he can update it.

Please note that items that have a strikethrough have already been claimed by the time you read this. We may from time to time add new items to the list as they occur to us, so it may be worth your while revisting this page occasionally.

Charity Funds:

You may wish to contribute to one of our chosen charities, namely 'Scope' (http://www.scope.org.uk/) or the 'British Trust for Conservation Volunteers' (http://www.btcv.org/).

Scope

We chose Scope because they help folks like our niece, Mara (whom you undoubtedly will meet on the big day), who have Cerebral Palsy.

BTCV

We chose BTCV because we would like to contribute to preserving the environment, and because Alison has happy memories of working for them in her student days. If it wasn't for BTCV (and Loughborough University Youth Hostel Association), perhaps Alison and Damian might never have met up in the first place!

Please send your cheques to Nick Fox payable to 'Nick Fox' (this is our preferred option). Please add a covering note telling Nick to which charity you are contributing. Furthermore, if you would like the donation to be eligible for reclaim of tax by the charity as 'Gift Aid', then please make this clear in your note to Nick, giving your name and address, and stating that you are a U.K. taxpayer (if this is indeed the case). Alternatively, if you prefer, you can make the cheques out directly to the charity (payable to 'Scope' or 'BTCV'), although sorting out the Gift Aid aspects (if applicable) may be slightly more complicated in this case.

Other funds:

Explore vouchers:

As most of you know, we love travelling, and very much enjoy "Explore" travel tours to exotic locations. You may wish to help to contribute to one of our future holidays, by buying us holiday vouchers! Explore vouchers can be accessed either by phoning 0870 3334001, or via their website at:

www.explore.co.uk/worldwide

Lawn Mower:

We expect this to appeal to a group of friends clubbing together. We don't have a specific model in mind yet, but we would like one that gathers the grass (as well as cutting it, of course); has wheels and probably runs on petrol. Contact Nick for more details on specifications, and if you would like to set up or join a consortium to purchase this.

Other items:

Towels:

Towels are back on the list! We have referred to the M&S website (Home, Bath Towels) as a guide to colours, but please don't feel that you must buy these from M&S.

Hand towls 2x navy (Egyptial towels) - to be used in the kitchen

Bath towels: 1x Crimson (Luxury towels)

1x Damson (Luxury towels)

1x Navy (Egyptian towels)

Tea Towels - Up to 6 plain cotton tea towels in Blue, Red or Yellow

Bed linen - A set of cream bed linen for a double bed, i.e. fitted sheet, duvet cover and 4 x pillow covers.

Breadmaker - We are told these "change your life"(???) However, we don't know much about them, so do not have a make or model in mind

Large flower vase - plain (possibly glass) suitable to hold large flowers/bouquet. Again, no particular design in mind.

Large flower pots for the patio - no particular design in mind

Photo albums (self adhensive type, rather than 'slip-in')

Wine - It would be nice to build up our wine cellar, and then to exercise the following.........

EZ Pull Corkscrew - Jazzy technology for opening wine

Plain wine glasses - we don't have a design in mind but it would be nice to have some matching glasses for dinner parties (we have smashed a fair few in the past). Max 12 glasses (e.g. up to 2 sets of 6).

Sherry glasses - a set of 6 glasses, suitable for sherry or port (we prefer plain designs).

Compact Flash Memory Card - We recently took the plunge and bought ourselves a digital camera (Canon Powershot A75, in case you're interested). Hopefully we'll get the chance to take lots of glorious pictures during our honeymoon! So we'd really appreciate an additional Compact Flash memory card for it (only one, please, so do be sure to check with Nick). Technical details - Type 1 Compact Flash with capacity 512MB or 1GB. Hint - 7 day shop seem to offer good deals (but then, so do lots of other places too).

A surprise - Maybe you will surprise us with something we might really really like and need, yet don't already have.
