LED Field Strength Meter - Component Identification

 
For the Field Strength Meter to work it is vital for the right components to be in the right place, and the right way round.
 
 
IC Socket Identification:-
 
1 off 18 Pin socket & 1 off 8 Pin socket.
Pin 1 is at the cut-out end of the socket.

Resistor Identification:-
 
R1   =     220R          Red - Red - Brown
R2   =     22k             Red - Red - Orange
R3   =     4.7k            Yellow - Violet - Red
R4   =     4.7k            Yellow - Violet - Red
R5   =     3.9k            Orange - White - Red

Capacitor Identification:-
 
C1   =     10uF, 16VW
**(Make sure that the negative (-) lead is connected to the ground plane)**
C2   =     100pF
C3,C4,C5,C6 & C7 = 0.1uF (Either Blue or Yellow Case)

Diode Identification:-
 
D2 & D3  = 1N4148
**(These 2 diodes are taped together- do not separate them until they are to be fitted into the PCB)**
**(Make sure that the diodes are the right way round. Cathode lead has a ring on the case)**
 
D4   =    1N4001
**(Make sure that the diode is the right way round. Cathode lead has a ring on the case)**

Zener Identification:-
 
D1    =    5.1V Zener    Clear glass diode that looks similar to D2 & D3.
**(Make sure that the diode is the right way round. Cathode lead has a ring on the case)**

LED Identification:-
 
LED 1           =    Green High Efficiency (Looks clear)
LEDs 9-10    =    Red High Efficiency
 
**(LONGER lead (anode) goes to SQUARE PCB pad)**
