The origins of the Bubonicus Class Light Cruisers are unknown, their first appearance was an attack on a convoy of Imperial ships, bringing vital supplies to the besieged Mulanato system. A Lunar Class Cruiser "Emperor's Wrath" and two squadrons of Firestorm Frigates were escorting the transports, when attacked by three Bubonicus. Only one Firestorm survived. The crew told of how the Chaos ships moved as one to latch onto the Emperor's Wrath and tore it to pieces, the Firestorms then either suffered the same fate or were destroyed by Lance fire. A Bubonicus looks like a short Chaos Cruiser, but with a huge pair of Agonizer Ram Claws replacing the prow and several lance turrets provide ranged protection.

Special Rules:
Agonizer Ram Claws
These huge claws replace are mounted on the prow of the Bubonicus. Running along
the claws are what appear to be large spikes, but these are actually massive
boarding airlocks. When the Bubonicus' claws grab another ship, the spikes tear
deep into the hull and release a horde foul daemonic spawn of Nurgle in a terrible
boarding rampage. The Bubonicus gets +1 D6 when ramming. When the Bubonicus
attacks an enemy ship with a boarding action, regardless of the final outcome
it causes D6 critical hits.
