Belan IV is a narrative campaign we are running. The Campaign started around the 1st July 2001, the site should be updated every week.

There's no fancy resource management or anything like that, we just go with the plot. The way the system works is quite simple.

1. Decide on what is happening (for example Eldar try to destroy fuel depot)

2. Set up terrain, this is not done at random, rather we build the terrain to fit the scenario and story.

3. We roll a dice to see who uses what side and then point up or we some times jointly point up each army and then roll to see who uses what.

4. Fight the battle.

5. Sort out the Battle report and plot hooks for the next stage.

We find this system keeps the game fresh and changing, there's never any beardy armies as we point them up purely to fit the plot line. Because you never know which army you will use, winning does not really matter, instead the drama of the story is what matters.
