Saurus

Saurus are terrifying creatures, giant reptiles, covered in thick scaley hide with lots of teeth, claws and bad attitude. Their appearance and size is similiar to the legendry Dinosaurs of Terra and they are no less ferocious.

A Saurus may be used as a random creature if both players are agree. They cost no points and may only be used as described below.

A Saurus is a monstrous creature and therefore it's attacks ignore armour saves in close combat.

SPECIAL RULES

Unstoppable: A Saurus will never fall back and passes any leadership based test, be it morale, psychic powers or anything.

Enter the Dragon: From the second turn onwards, each player makes a normal reserves roll for the Saurus. When it becomes available roll a Scatter Dice in the middle of the battlefield, place the Saurus on the table edge pointed at lined up with the exact position the Scatter Dice pointed to.

Rampage: The sights, smells and sounds from a battlefield are confusing to a Saurus. It stumbles around at random, lashing out at anything foolish enough to get in it's way. At the beginning of each players turn roll a D6 and a Scatter Dice to determine the direction and how far the Saurus moves. Anything it moves into contact with can not move or shoot and must fight it in the assault phase. The Saurus does NOT count as charging. If the Saurus does not destroy it's opponent, at the beginning of the next players turn the Saurus will leave combat and continue moving as normal.

Tank Rattle: If the Saurus comes into contact with a vehicle, the vehicle takes D3 glancing hits. Skimmers do not receive the normal only hit on 6 rule, the Saurus is far to big to miss. Vehicles with a weapon skill are treated the same as infantry. If the vehicle is destroyed any passengers that survive the wreck must keep very still or be eaten. Make a leadership test, if passed the creature ignores them, if failed they are all eaten or crushed to a pulp.

GGGGGGRRRRR: Saurus do not consolidate or pursue, they just roar...

Any Dinosaur kit is good for this, they can look really cool if you use some Tyranid parts to convert them into more Alien looking beasties.
