750 Pts - Dark Angels Army The Battered Defenders

I wanted this army to feel like they had been dug in defending against a horde of enemies for weeks, sorta Rourkes Drift style (the events portrayed in the film Zulu). All heavy support and assault units have been wiped out, casulties have drastically reduced each of the Tactical squad's size as the marines battle to survive, yet the ancient Dreadnought and Chaplain continue to inspire the remaining marines to fight on. But now they face the final battle...

You'll notice each Tactical Squad has different weapon options, I like to vary these as I think it adds more character to each unit aswell as providing flexibility. The average space marine isn't too shabby in close combat and against most troops will kick arse, but still this force is a touch weak against close combat specialists, you will need to dig in and shoot, shoot, shoot. Though the Interrogator-Chaplain and Dreadnought are a force to be reckoned with in combat and should be able to compensate for the lack of Assault Marines. The Chaplain also has bionics, I wanted him to be a famous hero, the alien's attacks keep coming, yet he fights on despite his wounds, his will holding the whole army together.
