Baroque guitars
are larger more decorated versions of their renaissance cousins and have
multi-tier parchment rosettes, up to 5 tiers. They can be fitted with either a plain or mustachioed bridge and
are normally strung with 5 courses of gut, however, 4 course versions can also be made available. The back can be
plain, decorated or ribbed (13-21 ribs) and the sides either single or multi-ribbed. Tuning is
usually in e’ (ECGDA) giving a scale length in the range 625-740mm.
