About the Wessex Electric Nutter So you may ask, who or what is WEN? Some may think that I am not living, others just treat me as if I am invisible. But I do exist, in human form, in fact, I am someone that just wishes to accompish one thing in life, make a difference. However, some basic facts about me, can be seen to the right of this page. The nickname of Wessex Electric Nutter probably needs some explaining. By true meaning, I am no means a "nutter", although I act like it from time to time. The nickname was devised in 2001, as I was looking for an alternitive nickname for IRC, the Trainz chatroom, where I spent most of my time, doing not a lot. (Except idle talk). The way I came up with the nick, was basically that "Wessex Electrics" are my favorite type of trains, and have been, since I used them from new in 1988, when my mother took my sister and myself to Dorchester by train. I also used them when they started working on the Portsmouth Direct line (which wasn't such a good idea, when they found the motors burning out near Haslemenre, as the rumor goes!). They are sadly withdrawn from all service now, most of the trains are stored at Eastliegh, some are still at Bouremouth Depot, while 2424, the last overhauled Piggie, is in a new "pen", where this little piggy went to Stewarts Lane. A side profile image can be seen below. (Some little Piggies are rumored to go to Southern, but if one little piggy does the Portsmouth to Brighton slow runs, then I might use the train a lot more! Or if that little piggy goes weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! all the way home, as they often do!)
Apart from pigs, if I had to say a lot about me, (there is already enough about me to the left of this text), I am some human that joined the rest of the worlds soo called computer geeks and did nothing to contribute to it. Fact is, I am an adult behind one too many computers, sonwhere in England, well Southern England. I am always recongised by my different hair colour, which attracts comments of endearment and in distates. I also am someone that has been labeled with that age old condition, Aspergers Syndrome or so I have been told, which probably stereotypes me further. I also am primarily a computer graphical artist in my spare time, when many members from other chat mediums don't disturb me. I think thats all I need to talk about. Before anyone asks "where is there a pic of you?", its on another site, why duplicate an object when the service is just as good on another site or better?
Later addtions I never added. Contents of whats below since I expanded the page and it has become a lot larger (and difficult) to navigate. Just click the appropiate link and the webpage will instantly teleport you there.
Soon after I got banned from Auran, (and being naturally furious about everything - my work life was hugely affected and home pressures werent helping), I was mentioning to my sister about owning my own railbus (a Class 142, some were withdrawn at the time, those ended up with First Great Western however). Interestingly, one of my sisters knew someone who owned a loco, a Peak in fact. So, from August 07 onwards, I ended up of all places, Ropley in Hampshire. I later got certified with a PTS and in the new year, I am looking to start driving the Class 117 DMU they have (Manual gearboxes anyone) and try and help get the peak running in reasonable order. Taken with a PTS, just don't try this at home, otherwise, you could very likely die. Anyway, 45132 shows that she has seen better days than of current. The dirt and grime was caused by the group that look after 34105 "Swanage", when they cleaned out the smoke box. The resulting filth laid on the nose and with the rain, formed black streaks down the nose around the lights. However, the nose will need replacing to match the no.1 end (other end), since its gained split headcodes. Although, at current, the new nose has yet to be fitted. Still, hopefully the peak will see use soon, once the generator has been repaired. If anyone has got a spare Crompton Parkson Generator, rated at a maximun of 960v and 1080amps (and space for a Brush alternator), please tell us, we maybe interested. For more informaiton about this beast and its current problems (broken generator, new nose needs to be fabricated, the other needs fitting and some new batteries are needed), look at www.45132.com and if you are able to help, we look forward to hearing from you, particulary if you are very good in electronics, welding and mechanical engineering. There is a reason for the future location and there are reasons why. I wouldn't want to leave the UK if living expensies were not as high, the Health & Safety Executive rules our every day lives with too much burecracy and some of the younger generation learnt that "happy slapping, drugs, drinks and trouble starting" is likely to make them look like loosers. In August 2006, I was attacked on a train, which severely dented my confidence in UK society for a while. I then started to loose my relationships (note the proper use, I was single at the time) with some members that heavily influenced my decisions. At the time, I was interested in being hired by a company known as Auran who knew me (hopefully) and I knew them for 6 years at the time. Logically, I thought this was a good choice at that time, so I wished to go to a University in the Brisbane area and learn C++ programming and gaming design. Except, my families finances worsened, so I set back the plans by 4 years, still see below for university. This I ruled out as soon as I started at Chichester College, but 4 years later and I couldn't get where I wanted to go, so I applied (As of December 2007) to 2 universities. Now, its not so much of a big deal, until you realise what school I actually came from. With the condition and educational background, I thought it was impossible. Not always, I failed my BTEC First in IT at Chichester College (there was an issue that hindered my ability to learn and depression wasn't helping, I moved away to South Downs College afterwards, because I couldn't cope), but now I am on a BTEC National in IT, I am looking for and indeed attaining top marks. This is a complete change from the previous 4 years and it really does strike me as odd.As for the school, back before I left, I never heard anyone attaining a University of any type, as everyone left with at the max, 2 GCSEs and a load of entry level certificates. I am not sure if I am the first person in the school to do that, but if Portsmouth or Southampton Solent accept my applications, I possibily be one of the very few to do so, if the only one. Now that is something to shout about. I never really mention about the dogs, although now its only 2 people in the house, we only have 2 dogs, compared to the 4 previously. (My mother now lives away!) Anyway, my mother was interested in Irish Red Setters, she then later ended up with a Red & White Setter (Quinn) and the plauge has never stopped. I personally do not take much interest in the dogs, Quinn I find too demanding a bossy, which has somewhat put me off and his intoxicating diet doesn't help. Seamus also lives in the same house and Seamus is the complete oppsite to Quinn. Very quiet, very placid and loves attention. He won't boss, yell or shout, but he will squeak if you ignore him for too long. Seamus isn't really that fussy either, althoughcan be chearful when he meets visistors. Quinn is very loud when someone comes within the front boundry of the house! As for photos: Left: Quinn wants something, right: Seamus straying too far into West Itchnor marina! Although, he is loving getting wet on a mild winters day! (Both taken on the 23/12/2007 at Bosham Hoe, West Sussex, UK. Polaroid effects added in Photoshop.) Not one I talk about, but the camera does follow me, I don't think my photos are to a reasonable standard sometimes, as they do go wrong. The purpose for most of my photos, is simply reference, that is it, but some I do attempt to take for artistic reasons! :) What I believe to be 377 447, disappearing behind whats left of the trees on a winters Sunday, forming a late running 15:50 SOUTHERN service to Littlehampton during the new timetable period. The train seems to be 10 minutes late when it left Fishbourne, so the photo was taken at 16:00 according to the camera. This shot is also taken in a field, which is behind the Roman Palace, accessible by Centurian Way and a unsignalled pedestrian crossing that has to be used with care. The train is heading towards Chichester (about 1 and a half miles to the left of the shot), thus this shot is around 300 to 400 yards from Fishbourne station. The photo was darkened and corrected in Photoshop, although, the effect isn't quite what I am looking for, I suppose it doesn't help with a 5yo Fuji Finepix S602 and a ametur photographer, still learning how it works! Now, most of my photos are also used in conjuction with my 3D modelling, which the quality can be found elsewhere on this site. I also like to make some "what if scenes" and some completely "not there scene" with the 3D modelling package I use, a variant of Discreets 3D Studio Max software. However, since most items are recreated from a prototype in a 3D eviroment (on the computer), photography and graphics often are used and mixed together. Sometiems with quite hilarious results. I've mentioned Auran numerous of times already, however, you may ask, what have I been doing for the company?
Maybe little, but its somewhere, however, I do fancy working with the "Brew Crew" team on Trainz. Except, in the crew, I would be a real big oddity, the lack of ability to drink beer. :-) Finally, I've mentioned about 45132 and for an unemployed student, its not the only voluntry job I've held, I've held one for longer. For 3 years of service in fact, that is with the British Heart Foundation in 2 of their stores. I just transferred from one to the other (different group of volunteers!). In most cases, I am probably the only male volunteer and if that wasn't ironic enough, the youngest too! This does lead to a little novelty of working with a group of much older women and believe me, they are far more easier to talk to then their younger counterparts. You may then ask "well, if you are there that long, why haven't you got a part time paying job? Besides, what do you do?".The answers?
Now, if you are an employer, would you like to employ me? If so, why not email me via this site? Remember, aspergers isn't a limit, the person can acquire some unique skills, just waiting to be used.Trainz forum profile(since I haven't got a contact me form, everyone else can contact me via the site as well.) Yes, I do have a private server, it started to exist after I wrote this page however, in August 2007, I brought down the server because of many issues. For a start, it was using Microsofts IIS to allow the outside world to view the pages. It worked on a virtual machine, the physical one didn't want to work. Then I fell out with the developers of Trainz, Auran. I accumulated my first(!) 1 month ban, but I cannot really comment too much on it, I suppose it was an over reaction to what happened, but I do accept some blame in the issue.. The server for the webpage, is for hosting my content, its a recent idea I came up with, but hey. Click here to find it. (Opens another webpage).
