Elizabeth Hayley has over 20 years’ experience as a professional musician since leaving The Royal Academy of Music in London where she studied.
Her busy international schedule, as both a classical and jazz pianist, has included playing at the inaugural World Clown Congress in Sweden, giving recitals across the UK, directing a successful concert series at Weycroft Hall, Axminster, touring Ireland with ‘Side by Side’ by Sondheim, accompanying the Somerset chamber choir ‘Amici’ in Italy and France, and she has performed in a diverse range of venues including the Pump Rooms in Bath, Toronto airport, The Ivy in London, and the Hannibal Palace Hotel, Tunisia.
Clients have included BMW, Nissan, The National Trust, The National Youth Music Theatre, Friends of the Phil, Somerset Opera, UK Rotary Clubs, and Ridley College Toronto - where she returned in 2007 to give an acclaimed series of workshops, masterclasses, and recitals.
Elizabeth is part of the classical duo 'Panache' with cellist Keith Tempest, and in June 2008 they gave a stunning performance of the Rachmaninov Sonata for the Milverton Concert Society. Her popular jazz trio, with Ron Prentice (bass) and Jonty Hedges (drums) delights audiences with their spontaneous style and sense of fun, and are available for weddings and corporate functions. In July 2008 Elizabeth founded 'Somerset Voices', a local community project which encourages people of all ages and abilities to come and sing, and also to raise money for St Margaret's Somerset Hospice. Their inaugural concert raised £800.
As a Musical Director Elizabeth has won awards for Chorus and received nominations for best MD - the most recent success was the NODA Wilfred Roe Trophy for Chorus singing in 'TAOS' productions of 'The Mikado', she returns as MD in Yeomen of the Guard in 2009.
