Taunton Choral Society is a well-established 80-strong choir with a long history of high quality choral singing. The choir gives three concerts each year, usually with orchestral accompaniment. Its repertoire is mainly traditional but not exclusively sacred music. Recent performances include Vaughan Williams' Sea Symphony and the Mozart Requiem; concerts tend to be in Taunton itself although we have sung in Wells Cathedral twice in the last year or so. We currently have a guest conductor, Ian Ball, but a new permanent Musical Director will be in post by September 2008.
We rehearse each Tuesday night at 7.30 in Temple Methodist Church.
