Fort Augustus Preservation Trust was established to facilitate the improvement, restoration and safeguarding of historical buildings, artefacts and wildlife environments.
The Trust was established by the Cill Chuimein Heritage Group, the local group responsible for keeping the heritage of Cill Chuimein or Fort Augustus as it is now known, . The group were asked by the local
community council to look into the restoration of the Old River Oich Bridge in the village and this led to the establishment of the new trust.
