This page is dedicated to the Pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela which took place in July 2008.
Santiago de Compostela is located in the north west region of Spain in the province of A Coruña. The city's cathedral is the destination of the 1000 year old pilgrimage route known as The Way of St. James or the Camiño de Santiago. Over 100,000 pilgrims from all over the world travel to the city every year.
Our group of parishioners made their pilgrimage. Beginning at Ponferrada on 16th July, they walked the last 205Km of the Camino de Santiago de Compostela to arrive at the cathedral in time for the Feast of St. James on July 25th.

Here are some photographs of the trip showing both the ups and downs throughout the journey! More photos will be added soon. |
