Crafts

I've always enjoyed making things, and this has always been encouraged by my parents who are both very talented, Mum sews and knits (by hand and machine) fantastic clothes. Dad paints and draws amazing portraits, and since retiring he has taken up wood turning and carpentry, this is greatly encouraged by my brother and I who keep setting him DIY challenges, in return Dad challenges me to make more complicated things.

I don't really have one particular favourite craft, instead I have a few which I switch between every few days/weeks. The crafts I concentrate on most often are jewellery making, crochet, and cross-stitch. However I've recently re-learnt how to knit, and I suspect there will be a lot more knitting in the future. I also like sewing toys (when I'm not cursing my tempremental sewing machine), glass painting, and anything else anyone challenges me to do.

One of my earliest memories from school is making a ship from cornflake packets and toilet roll tubes which I then painted purple. I was so proud of it, unfortunatly no-one else seemed to realize it was a ship. I hope the things I make have become more recognisable as I've got older, please feel free to let me know what you think of them.

I apologise for the quality of some of the photos. Photography isn't among my skills, but I am persevering.
