PARISH NOTES Sue Brewster
The
refurbishment of Trinity Church continues the new chairs for the hall
have arrived. If you would like one of the old chairs in Trinity Church
Hall or know somewhere who could use one please speak to Pam Utting or
Sue Brewster.
Next Sunday marks the beginning of Christian Aid Week. Our annual Churches Together Christian Aid Tea and Service will be held at 4.00pm at Loughton Methodist Church. It’s a great opportunity to share in fellowship with our Christian neighbours and to pray for the work of the charity. Any offers of refreshments from bakers and sandwich-makers would be gratefully received. Please contact Mark.by Tuesday at the latest. If you can help with collecting please speak with Helen Stell.
To celebrate their Patronal Festival on 18 May, Trinity Church will have a celebratory lunch at 12.15pm; come and join us. Please let Pam Utting (020 8508 7657) know for catering purposes.
There will be no evening service on 18 May as we have our parish trip to the Syrian Orthodox church in Acton. Don’t forget to sign up at St John’s if you’d like to join us. .
Please
note there will be restricted access to St John’s between Friday
16 and Monday 17 May as a recording will be taking place in the church. Sunday morning services will not be affected. A notice will be placed on the church door on these days.
This year on Sunday 22 June 2008 we will be holding the Sung Eucharist for our Patronal Festival service at 6.00pm. The service will be followed by a glass of wine and light refreshments. There will be a Said Eucharist at 9.30am on that day.
We
hope to run the children’s Holiday Club from 26-29 August at
Trinity Church. If you would be able to help at this event please speak
to Sue Brewster.
Adult
confirmation classes will resume on 3 June, please pray for our
candidates: Lucas Sheen, Jeff Thomas, Janice & Roger Olive, Melissa
Jacobs and Patricia Cranfield.
The Confirmation Trip to Bradwell will be on Saturday 7 June. Everybody is welcome to attend this trip and a list for you to sign is at the back of St John’s.
