Introduction

There are several related Systems Engineering standards under development today. In the STEP community, AP233 Systems Engineering is designed to support systems integration and data exchange between SE tools. AP233 and its relationship to other SE standards is described below. The exff support for AP233 is mainly in proof-of-concept tools for translating data into and out of AP233.

AP233 Systems Engineering

Please visit the NASA AP233 Page for more information.

Please visit the Eurostep AP233 Page for more information.

AP233 and SysML

SysML is the in-development OMG standard for Systems Engineering. It specifies a metamodel and diagram notation for SE concepts.

Please visit the SysML Partners Page for more information.

A First Test of SysML/AP233 Interchange for Systems Engineering Data describes a small investigation into translating SysML Assemblies into AP233 datasets was conducted by John Deere and Eurostep. Also available as a PDF.

AP233 and DoD AF

Please see Using Systems Engineering Data Standards with DoDAF for a presentation on a white paper by Ian Bailey, Dwayne Hardy and Fatma Dandashi.

Architecture Frameworks and Enterprise Architectures

Systems Engineering requirements and guidelines for use in defining systems are related to the topic of Architecture Frameworks and Enterprise Architectures.
