If you chose to have your holiday here you can experience Nottinghamshire's historically rich environment without even leaving the warm and cosy snug of the Homestead as the building is filled with reminders of Britain's 16th Centaury era. It is worth bearing in mind the property is not a purpose built modern unit so manoeuvrability can be tricky saying that, bathrooms are very spacious, there's a downstairs toilet and sofa bed plus a newly fitted handrail for the stairs. If you do have a disability or any special requirements please don't hesitate to get in touch regarding specific dimensions or any further queries as it shouldn't stop you enjoying the unique characteristics of the Homestead.
The signs of historic times continue when moving upstairs with a genuine beam looming at the bottom of the stairs and is also capable of inflicting a very sore head on those who don't keep aware! Sloping ceilings and floors characterise the house throughout the upstairs and down. This, fused with our personal modern renovations provides The Homestead with a combination of historical depth and practical modern day living.
The yard is a working yard, currently consisting of two horses and a flock of chickens meaning daily maintenance and stable hands work early mornings and around dusk. Although no one will impose on your rental space, you are likely to hear the clip clop of hooves and see the daily action a country yard provides.
The front end of the garden is adjacent to the A6075 a 30 mph village road, whereas the back garden stretches out to miles of farming fields. This is useful to keep in mind if bringing your dog along.
We hope you now have a further taste of the delights the homestead has to offer!
