Sam's picture diary

June 24th and it's the beginning of my second week in my new home

At the weekend, my new dad made me a

food bowl stand, because I refused to

eat with the bowl on the floor.  A dog

has to have principles you know, after

all all the others have their stands...

I always eat standing next to Maggie

on one side and Gemma on the other.

Do you know, Gemma is so small, she

can run right under me!

Most days, we go out for a walk into

what my new mum calls The Paddock.

I like it there because there are paths

cut through the trees so it's cool and

out of the sun.

The girls like to run in the grass, but Toby

and I just hang out on the path with mum.

Sometimes Gemma comes back to the path

to see if she can see Maggie through the

tall grass.  This afternoon we all thought

we could hear something in the grass

(that's Gemma, Toby and me listening);

Roxie found out what it was - a Roe

deer faun!  She was very naughty and

wouldn't leave it alone until my mum and

the Bambi's mum both yelled at her.  Bambi

was OK thank goodness, but mum was very

cross with Roxie!

Just in case you get the wrong idea about

Roxie, she's a very nice girl really - I tell

her all my secrets!  Toby's not bad either

for a boss, he tells wicked jokes and makes

me laugh!

Mind you, today he tried to take my bone

away, but I told him NO!  We argued for a

few minutes until mum threatened to take

both our bones away, and then lay back

to back and chewed together for a while.

I really like lying around in the garden,

especially when it's nice and sunny.  I've

found it's best viewed from an upside-down

position...

I think I'm very photogenic and whenever

mum takes her camera out, I try my very

best to make sure she takes lots of photos

of me!  I like these two best from this

week's pictures... I was trying to give her

a kiss in the one of the left, but she was

too busy with the camera to notice!  I think

my right side has the best profile don't you?
