Somewhere in Lancashire
This is my site for the building of the Europa Trigear
#348
If you are interested then read on!
The Europa started in 1999 to date 2008
- Firstly I
must say that Colin Way started the aircraft, he had constructed a fair bit
of the fuselage.
- I decided
to take up the project from these photos……………

- After
some hesitation in 2005 we purchased the part-finished project.
- I started
by reading all the manuals, and made a working set and a reference set.
- Started
to mess about glue’s and resin’s and attempted to fill the flight
surfaces.
- I sorted
through the entire boxes and made a stores list.
- Then I
sorted some of the nuts bolts brackets into sub kits, and started sanding
down my filling.
- Such as
the oil tank, made the bracket got the relevant bolts out and ready to fit
Check
out the engine
- Put
together the doors and hinges and fitted, then cut and fitted the windows,
and did more sanding.

- The tail
tip was missing, and a number of bolts, fitted the antenna and resin up
the tailstock and tip.

- Started
to run in some wiring for strobe and antenna, and did some sanding.
- Decided
after great recommendation by most that I spoke to, to change it to a
Trigear.
- Took off
the mono bits and bob’s
-
From this
to
this

-
- Read the
destructions and commenced cutting and pasting the legs and nose wheel to
the airframe. Note the nose wheel spring modification

- Done the
wiring again and more sanding.
- The
aircraft is looking better now standing on its own 3 feet with the windows
all masked off.
-
- Lot’s of
filling still to do. Sit in the garage perusing over the instrument panel
with paper dials.
- Picked up
analogue instruments and some electrical bits spent many evenings filing
and fitting the bits as they arrived.

- Met Nigel Jones the Inspector for the
first time ….no problem’s carry on!
