Stephen Colbert speech  (mp3,  11 mins.  3.75 mb)

Highlights from US comic Stephen Colbert's savagely funny speech at the
White House Press Association Dinner in April 2006.
Expertly gutted both president and the press in one go.

Reg Presley and The Troggs  (mp3,  12 mins.  4.1 mb)

Before inadvertently becoming a millionaire in the early 1990's as a result of one of his songs
featuring in FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL,
Reg and his band struggled valiantly to make their art come to life, as borne out by this now legendary argument, which, before the net, extensively did the rounds on tape.

Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis advertise 'The Caddy'  (mp3,  3 mins.  1.1 mb)

The sweet and wholesome family image of Martin and Lewis is shot to pieces in this marvellously foul mouthed recording. Trying to hard to lie about the quality of their latest film, you can almost hear the straining sounds as they endeavour to get to the bar.

BBC newsreader loses it  (mp3, 40 secs.  243 kb)

Prior to hiring cab drivers to appear on TV as computer experts, the steady and reliable voice of
the BBC  was undone by this newsreader completely losing the thread.

Linda McCartney - Hey Judas  (mp3, 6 mins.   4.1mb)

From deep in my archive is this amazing engineer's tape of Linda McCartney
singing  backing vocals on 'Hey Jude' live with WINGS sometime in the 1970's.
Not so much shatters glass as grinds it into jagged, fatal shards.
They sent a signal to her monitors, but never actually piped her into the PA. You can clearly hear  why.
