The early 1990s saw the House & Garage scene explode big time into the London underground dance culture. Having seen House and Garage develop right through the nineties to the present day, Henriques has built up an extensive record collection. Ranging from old skool house & garage right through to the new wave of UK Garage he has been bringing the best and freshest House & Garage to events in both London & Edinburgh. First playing out live in 1999 to audiences in the small pubs and bars around his London neighbourhood, college events & private parties. Progressing whilst living in Edinburgh, to bring the London sounds north of the border. And playing at many of Edinburghs best club events that include Potterrow, Honeycomb, Liquid Rooms and Po Na Na. The following created led him to undergo larger projects that involved organising, promoting and DJ-ing rolled into one. When La Dolce Vita (sweet life) was conceived in October 2001, (where Henriques teamed up with a fellow DJ (Antonio Bellanca) to form the group, this opened up an exclusive, unique regular House & Garage night in Edinburgh. Henriques has also been heavily involved in Edinburghs radio station Fresh Air 87.7FM. Initially invited in the May 2001 broadcast as a guest DJ several times. Later moving on to host and produce his own show London Calling playing London's urban music live to Edinburgh and also on the Internet. Through his extensive experience Henriques knows what the crowd wants and gets the party rolling every time. In his own words he believes "a good DJ should be energetic, lively and ultimately play to their crowd". Likewise a good DJ should be "pushing forward and promoting new music and styles".Music Style: UK Garage / Old Skool Garage
Mr Zigz has been playing the finest UK Garage since its late nineties explosion in Londons clubs and pirate radio stations. His musical repertoire spans the last six years and he plays old skool with the same passion as he plays the new tougher break-beat style Garage. Recently hand picked to play a show-case DJ set on Radio 1's new urban music digital station, Radio 1xtra, Mr Zigz is a new talent set to make waves in the near future. Having already played in various clubs in London, Brighton and Edinburgh Mr Zigz has proved to be a sure fire hit with ravers as, in his own words, he plays "Music that people can dance to".Music Style: US & UK Garage / Soul / Funk / House and Hip Hop
DJ Innovator (A.K.A Antonio Bellanca) has made a commendable name for himself over the past 7 years playing music in all parts of the world from London, Scotland, Italy, Ireland, Upstate New York to his most pleasurable - the city that never sleeps - Manhattan N.Y. His love for music started from an early age when he picked up a guitar and started to compose his own rhythms and melodies. This love-crazed passion continued with the accumulation of sweet soul, jazz, motown, reggae and old school hip hop records to make his impressive and unique record collection - the heart of his innovation. Spinning records became a natural progression as he started to mix old Motown vocals with new jazz/funk beats and it was therefore inevitable and only a matter of time until he discovered US GARAGE.
The name Innovator was given to him by a garage producer, as his ability to create new sounds and change old to new was extraordinary. Such an influence in this style of music can be heard in DJ Innovator's work as he mixes fruitful, sweet vocals with four to the floor beats, and combines them with an interesting array of live instrument recordings. He was recently described in Edinburgh's THE STUDENT publication as a "Garage Maestro" when he played some of his freshly pressed tunes at one of Scotlands most successful Drum and Bass nights - Nocturnal @ NOA.
DJ Innovator is currently residing in Edinburgh and is responsible for many of the Garage nights in both UK and US flavas that are occurring. He has featured at nights such as
He is currently a resident DJ at PO NA NA - on a thumping Saturday night, come and catch his uplifting sets.
DJ Innovator is currently working on his first album producing with artists/producers such as Antoine INK A.K.A Antoine Fafard, a Canadian legend and DJ A-Class who is currently the brains and talent behind some of the legendary UK garage tunes to date, not forgetting Joss Sorce and Emma Miles who have contributed in the production of his intro records.
