Coordinators
Mr. Joseph Batiller
Mrs. Vina Estrada
Introduction
The "Filipino" music department lead the music at
the occasional 11:00am Mass. The
Filipino Choir came into being in July 2002 when Joseph Batiller was given
a mission by Fr. Claro Conde, a Filipino Redemptorist priest based
in London, to organise a Filipino Mass in Basingstoke for the
first time. A campaign followed to form a choir group to lead the
music for this Mass. Musicians and musically oriented Filipinos
and other friends in Basingstoke responded with eagerness and the
first choir practice was born followed by Basingstoke's first Filipino Mass
in August 2002. There were 15 members at that time
and everyone was excited because there was a chance to introduce
new Mass songs sung in the Philippines. Music
The
"Filipino" music department sing contemporary Christian music influenced by the Lord’s Flock
Catholic Charismatic Community in the Philippines (for further details,

They aim to encourage not only the adults but also the youth
to come and celebrate a more lively Sunday Mass.
They are also influenced by popular praise and worship
artists from America, Australia and the United Kingdom.
