Portland Heritage Trust Annual Photography Competition and Exhibition awards were presented by the deputy Mayor of Portland Cllr Sylvia Bradley.

There were 593 prints in the exhibition. The competition was judged by Andrew Wilson ARPS (Associate of the Royal Photographic Society) from Wool. Andrew is an experienced judge for Western Counties Photographic Federation and Stour & Avon Photographic Federation and for many years lectured on photography.

He said,

“ There was a superb selection of prints that made my job really challenging. I was very impressed with the sheer number of images submitted and it was lovely to see that the exhibition is so well supported.

As well as a great many beautiful images there were a lot of genuinely exciting pictures with plenty of evidence of technological ability married to excellent creativity.

All the photographers who submitted pictures to the competitions are to be congratulated and as the judge I’d like to thank the organisers for all their hard work putting it together and for inviting me to judge the show.”
