MEMBERS DETAILS
The programs fully maintain a members database which allocates membership numbers and
stores the appropriate forenames, surnames, short names, EBU numbers and handicaps.
When a new player is added, the EBU numbers can be automatically retrieved from
a regularly updated EBU Membership file downloadable from the EBU web site. You
can import membership data to the Members Table using a Comma Separated Values
formatted file.
NAMES
Player names can be entered in several ways - By clicking the
list box member (recommended method), by number as allocated via the Membership
Database, by EBU number, by short name as allocated via the Membership Database
or by text input. In a Multisession Event, only the names for players in
session 1 need be entered since in Pairs, Teams and Individual Scorers, the
names will be copied for later sessions when the Movement between Lines is
specified. Visitors may be added to the Membership or just entered manually. In
TeamsScorer, up to 12 players are allowed in a team and the seating lineup in
each stanza may be changed (for getting individual

SwissPairsScorer
Assignments are
made either on Current Round or Round In Arrears
ranks. Round 1 is always preset, Round 2 is also preset if Round in Arrears.
The remaining rounds are assigned either within section or overall. The default
is overall at the start of a new section, else within section. Matchpointing
may be done either within section or overall. Sitter pairs, Missing Pairs etc
are handled appropriately.
SwissTeamscorer
Assignments are
made after each match. Round 1 is always preset, The
remaining rounds are assigned either within section or overall. The default is
overall at the start of a new section, else within section. Sitter pairs (in
teams) etc are handled appropriately. Long and Short Triples may be set.
MULTISECTION / MULTISESSION
The user can combine several
sections/sessions to create a single Multi-event which may be scored in the
normal way. The Menus allow full access
to sections and sessions within a Multi-Event. In PairsScorer and TeamsScorer,
the linkage between Multisessions must be defined for each session. In
SwissPairsScorer and SwissTeamsScorer the pair/team numbers are unique
throughout. The Swiss Events must always be controlled via the Multi-Event.
MANUAL SCORING ENTRY
Enter scores by value or by Contract/Declarer/Result
using the Enter or Tab key to progress. To correct a wrongly entered score just
move to the appropriate line and enter the correct score, the old score will be
overwritten. The user can use standard or numeric keys for numeric scores and
can easily Delete, Repeat, ArrowSwitch or enter Artificial Percents to each
side. Up to 5 weighted/split scores may be entered easily on a score template.
There is an ‘Omit Last Zero’ option for entry without the final ‘zero’ and an
Auto-Next Board facility which can be used when travellers are in order to
automatically proceed to the next board. The
program will use the defined scoring method as specified. Computer or normal
travellers can be used. Results are saved continuously to avoid any loss of
data. Impossible scores are checked with sound warning for invalid scores.
MatchPoints are immediately calculated as numbers to 1 decimal place and
displayed on every score entry. There is a list box visible at all times
showing the number of scores outstanding on each board. The Auto-Next facility
indicates when all boards in a section have been scored.
BRIDGEMATE SCORING ENTRY
The Bridgemate Pro scoring system is an advanced electronic scoring
system for bridge clubs and tournaments, which automatically registers board
results. The results are verified and fed to the central PC. This allows bridge
scoring using a wireless connection to all the tables in play. At the start, a
Bridgemate box score input devices is issued to every
table. The contract and tricks made are simply and quickly keyed into the box
after each hand. At the beginning of an event, players identify themselves by
Number, thus saving manual entry of names. As the event progresses the scores
are transmitted to the PC running the Scoring program which updates all scores
(across sections if required).
When Bridgemates are used, the Scoring program will control all the
scoring. The Bridgemate terminals will read any results and return them to the
Bridgemate Server Program Control. The Scoring program can regularly poll to
receive the new results as they occur and display updated rankings. Alternatively, it can read all the
registered results (and may be used at the end as a final check). The Scoring
program may display
continuous Rankings if required and will visually indicate which
table results have been received each round. If you need to change names, or
use any other functions, you can exit and return later to the Bridgemate
control screen. All normal menu functions (printing results etc) are still
available when using Bridgemate (including switching back to manual scoring).
ADJUSTMENTS
Procedural or disciplinary penalties may be applied, or other adjustments that cannot be handled in any
other way by the Scorer. A maximum of 50 adjustments per section are allowed in
the Pairs/Teams scorers and one adjustment per pair/team in the Swiss programs.
