Welcome to the home of Leys Badminton Club

Leys Badminton Club is open to junior and senior members. We play on Wednesdays at Wood Green School in Witney, West Oxfordshire, from September to April, with match nights and occasional additional club play on Fridays. (1:25,000 Map or 1:5,000 Map). The 2009-2010 season starts on Wednesday 2nd September.

The club offers a mixture of competitive and social play and runs seven teams in the Oxford District Badminton Leagues, including three Men’s, two Ladies and two Mixed. New members are always welcome.

We are particularly proud of our strong junior section (which starts again on Wednessday 9th September) and offer coaching and matchplay from 6.00 – 7.00pm and 7.00 – 8.00pm, depending on age and ability. Leys has five Level 2 and one Level 1 BADMINTON England qualified coaches and works closely with Oxfordshire Badminton Association and the Oxfordshire ports Partnership to offer coach education to its members. Two of our coaches, Judith Le Good, also Community Sports Coach for West Oxfordshire, and Jean Kloos, trained the Gold-medal winning West Oxfordshire team for the 2007 Oxfordshire Youth Games.
