Introduction

For those unfamiliar with ahnentafel notation, each person has a reference number indicating his or her position in the family tree. For any person, find his father by doubling his reference number, his mother by doubling his reference number and adding 1 to the result. Thus I am shown as number 1; my father is 1 times 2 = 2; my mother is 1 times 2 plus 1 = 3; my father's father is 2 times 2 = 4; my father's mother is 2 times 2 plus 1 = 5; my mother's father is 3 times 2 = 6; my mother's mother is 3 times 2 plus 1 = 7, and so on.

I have put blank lines between the generations, and beyond her grandparents also between her mother's and father's ancestors, to make it easier to read. For the same reason, six generations back, and each succeeding generation, I have put a line (consisting of the generation number repeated) across the page to separate the whole generation and left another blank line in each case between each group of 16 names.

Birth place and date are given where I know them. Question marks attached to information indicate some doubt. Questions marks in place of women's surnames indicate the maiden names are unknown to me. ~ before a date indicates approximation, normally because it is derived from declared age at census. Marriage and death information will be added subject to availability of the information and the time to extract it from my records.

The genealogical data in these pages is accurate to the best of my current (at the time of writing) knowledge. This means it is of very variable reliability, since sources at one extreme are 100% certain (e.g. I know who I married, where and when, and the identity of my parents) to the mere rumour level, such as LDS data extracted from the IGI and Ancestral File, and reminiscences of elderly relatives, some now deceased. Anyone wishing to make any use whatever of this information is therefore strongly advised to contact me for source details.
