Introduction

This page is devoted to photos of the places in Wiltshire connected with my family history. Some of them can also be seen on other pages of this site, but many, especially the groups of people, are shown only here. Photos will be added from time to time as I have time to scan them and as I acquire more of them.

Each photo is represented here by a small thumbnail. Click on it to see a larger version. The size of the larger version in bytes is given, so you know how big a download job you are starting. I'm sorry a few of the thumbnails are not very clear - it's impossible on this small scale, and by the time they're big enough to see clearly, they're no longer thumbnails! I'm trying to keep the total size of this page, including the thumbnails, reasonably small so it doesn't take users with slow modems too long to download it.

Wanborough

St. Andrew's Church, WanboroughSt. Andrew's Church, Wanborough.

Note the unusual combination of tower at one end and spire at the other. In Britain, only Purton (a few miles away on the other side of Swindon) has a similar structure. A church at Ormskirk in Lancashire has both tower and spire, but in that case both are at the same end of the church.
