Code of Conduct - Respect


Players code of conduct

    1. Make every effort to develop your own sporting ability in terms of skill, technique, tactics and stamina.

    2. Give maximum effort and strive for the best possible performance during a game, even if your team is in a position where the desired result has already been achieved.

    3. Set a positive example for others, particularly younger players and supporters.

    4. Avoid all forms of gamesmanship and time wasting.

    5. Always have regard for the best interests of the game, including where publicly expressing an opinion on the game or particular aspects of it, including others involved in the game.

    6. Never use inappropriate language.

    7. Make every effort consistent with "Fair Play" and the laws of the game to help your team win.

    8. Resist any influence which might, or might be seen to bring into question your committment to your team winning.

    9. Know and abide by the laws, competition rules and spirit of the game.

    10. Accept success as well as failure, victory and defeat equally.

    11. Resist any temptation to take banned substances or use banned techniques.

    12. Treat opponents and your team mates with due respect at all times, irrespective of the result of the game.

    13. Safeguard the physical fitness of opponents, avoid violence and rough play and help injured  opponents.

    14. Show due respect towards the match officials and opposition team officials.

    15. Always accept the decision of the match officials without protest.

    16. Abide by the instructions of your team coach and team officials provided they do not contradict the spirit of this code.

    17. Show due respect to the interest of all supporters or spectators.

    18. When officially representing Gillingham Town Youth FC act in a manner that attracts a positive impression of our club.

    19. Wear the appropriate footwear and have relevant equipment ie: shin pads, drink and clothing.

Parents code of conduct

    1. Applaud the opposing team as well as your own.

    2. Avoid "coaching" a child during a match.

    3. Not to shout and scream or use inappropriate language.

    4. Respect the referee & assistants decisions.

    5. Give attention to each child involved in football, not just the most talented.

    6. Respect other players, managers, club officials and supporters.

    7. Encourage a sense of personal achievement, self esteem, and improvement of childrens skills,  abilities, and enjoyment of playing football.

    8. Ensure your child has appropriate footwear, shin pads, drink and clothing.
