write a completely pointless letter and get it published in local paper

why?

I love reading letters to local papers. I don't want to slag anyone off here as there is often letters from people thanking local residents and making valid points about the community etc etc. But I sometimes wonder how bored you have to be, or how much free time you have, to write in to a local paper. Actually, I have a lot of free time so I guess I fit in to that category.

I have been slightly inspired by this man and have decided to see how many letters I can get published in a year in my local paper. Hopefully they don't read this website (and let's face it, unless they happen to be one of the 500 people in the world that do visit each day, I should be safe).
