request strapping young lad on radio ones 'your call'

why?

i really dont understand the mentality of people who ring up to request a song on radio ones 'your call'. people basically ring up and request pink. or keane. or girls aloud. or coldplay. and i have nothing against these bands being played on radio one.. BUT WHY RING UP SPECIFICALLY TO REQUEST THESE BANDS WHEN THEY ARE PLAYED 50 TIMES A DAY ON RADIO ONE ANYWAY??? it really bemuses me. really odd. so i think ill try and get strapping young lad played. people would probably like a change...
