The revival of Ringo, under the name of hanford! Unfortunatley, Hanford wasn't exactly the same as Ringo (not as talkative, etc.). Originally published on the FRPG message board. |

Read this. Now. We meet the creator of Ringo and Hanford, harrison , he happens to be a damn cool guy, by the way, and was nice enough to give scoutz the source code for ringo. Rock on, Harrison. =) |

Original: macross.simplenet.com (broken) Mysteries of Ringo . . . . . u n c o v e r e d : The original link to "Bark" (which appears to power Ringo) no longer works, although the Mozilla Bot referred to is still hidden away at mozilla.org. Unfortunately this is far removed from the Ringo or Hanford bots and unnecessarily complicated. The backbone of the Mozillla Bot is a Perl Script which uses the Net::IRC module. Packaged with the Net::IRC module is a simple tutorial script, which basically spits out random phrases into a channel and can be easily modified with a little knowledge of Perl. Of course you need to get it all compiled and running on a UNIX account first.... Update: The authors of this fine material have relaunched their site. Click here, here or here to visit. |
