Common Coot – Fulica atra
Not to be mistaken for moorhens,
coots can be seen nesting on the ponds of the Porter Brook.
This one was warily surveying
members of the public throwing bread to ducks as it sat on its nest in the
lower pond in Endcliffe Park.
