Welcome to the Dads Army Clan website, with all the information you would never want to know about our happy band of gamers.
The Dads Army Clan are a group of PC game fans who particularly enjoy playing two online games. One called Counter-Strike: Source(CSS), the other, Left4Dead2. They are shoot'em up games that promote strategy and team work to achieve a series of objectives. Although after playing for years we still haven't quite mastered the team work bit!
The clan started many moons ago with a core bunch of lads humping their computers to one house every Sunday (before the days of broadband), networking them together and playing various games for most of the day. Castle Wolfenstein I believe was the first, then Doom, Doom2, Quake, Unreal Tournament, Team Fortress etc, until finally Counter Strike came out and we have stuck with that one for years! We had all been waiting for Team Fortress 2 with bated breath, sadly, it just never really gripped the imagination of the clan and was quietly replaced by Left4Dead and subsequently Left4Dead2.
The clan has since grown out of all proportion. We now have a highly skilled set of players to choose from when challenged to a clan match, whilst still maintaining the core ethic of just playing for fun. Our motto is, If you can't beat us...you must be asleep. Just kidding. Any one of the clan would give you a run for your money.
We are happy for anyone to come along and play on our CSS server, as long as they follow our server rules (see server link above), that basically means no numpties shooting their team mates, no foul language before 9pm and no posting obscene sprays on the walls.
The Left4Dead server tends to be members only due to the restriction on player numbers and is oversubscribed on most evenings.
