Letton Stone
Troon Portland Curling Club is the oldest curling club in Troon and, indeed one of the oldest in the country, dating back to 1830. For many years there was an annual competition between various districts in the village as it was, in the days of outdoor ice. This competition was resurrected ten years ago when one of Troon Portland's members, Kirsty Letton, donated a new trophy. Kirsty was the winning skip in the World Ladies Seniors Championship at Braehead in 2000 and the oak and laburnum curling stone trophy known as the Letton Stone recognises that achievement.
Gairdner Trophy
This competition dates back to 1863 when the silver curling stone was presented by C .D. Gairdner to be competed for between Kilmarnock Senior Club, Kilmarnock Union Club and Kilmarnock Townend Club against Kilmarnock Junior Club, Dundonald Club and Troon Club. As some of these clubs no longer exist the competition is now held annually between Kilmarnock Townend C.C., Dundonald C.C. and Troon Portland C.C. The magnificent silver plated curling stone trophy was unfortunately stolen some years ago.
Day League
This competition is organised by Ayr Ice Rink for any club in Ayrshire and consists of five sections. Troon Portland C.C. Has three teams playing in this competition. It is played at 12 noon on weekdays throughout the season.
