The Societe Franco-Britannique de Cardiff was founded in 1906 with the objective of ‘the promotion of friendly relations and mutual understanding between the peoples of France and Great Britain, primarily by encouraging the study of the French language and culture’. Today it continues to uphold this aim with a programme of lectures, social events and visits.

programme of lectures The programme of lectures runs from October to May. Lectures, on a variety of topics, are given in French by experienced speakers. These and other meetings take place in Tal-y-Bont Social Centre on Saturday evenings at 7.15 pm, except where indicated otherwise.
social events Social events take place throughout the year: Fête de Noël, Fête des Rois, Mardi Gras and the Fête Nationale in July.
