This image was taken at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

During soundcheck the band played 'Chelsea Girl' a song written in 1978.

Jim Kerr, lead singer of Simple Minds, singing the lyrics from a piece of paper.

During the concert, I was positioned by the mixing desk. I ran to the front to try and get a close up shot of Jim, when to my amazement he was singing still reading the lyrics.

However, the crowd were so lively it was impossible, though I managed to get this image of the Minds on stage.

I aimed to get a picture of Jim singing the lyrics off a piece of paper and came away with something Completely different !

I like it as it reminds me of the times I used to be at the front and sums up the atmosphere of a Simple Minds concert.

I put it in to black and white to create a better atmosphere and give it more a raw feeling.
