Kilmacolm
New
Community
Centre
After nearly 9 years of very hard, voluntary work by members of KNCC board,
together with support from the Villagers, Inverclyde Council, The Cargill Trust,
and many many others, funds are in place and work has finally begun to provide
a new £2.3M Community Centre, Library, office chambers and village square
within the former Victorian primary school campus. Both of the existing stone
buildings are currently undergoing total restoration by Ogilvie Construction, with
completely new, modern interiors tailored to 21st century requirements.
Below is a visualisation by "The Holmes Partnership Architects"
of how it will lookwhen finished in late 2010...
The new community campus will be named "Kilmacolm Cargill Centre"
in recognition of the £1M contribution from the Cargill Trust fund.
