Geoffrey Allan Taylor - Piano

Geoffrey was born in Stony Stratford and is well known in North Buckinghamshire as a composer, pianist and teacher. He first trained as an artist in Northampton and Portsmouth, and then as a musician at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He has been the pianist for the Buckingham Choral Society since May 1994 and is in regular demand for concerts and festivals.
Much of his time now is spent in composing. In 1998, Dreamscape for piano duet, inspired by Shakespeare's 'Midsummer Night's Dream', was premiered at the Buckingham Summer Festival. In December 1999, the Buckingham Choral Society gave the first performance of A Vision: Look well to this day, which was their special Millennium commission. In March of 2000, Invocation for a new City was heard at the newly built Milton Keynes Theatre, and members of the Britten Sinfonia performed Ground in Chelmsford. In May 2002, his orchestral work Atoll was performed by the Orchestra of Opera North in York
He also tutors on the Music course for the Open College of the Arts.
