Your email has been forwarded to me by Teresa as 'Uncle Buzz ' was my
grandmother Ida Helen Russell Gilbert (nee Smith)'s youngest brother in a
family of twelve children.
Uncle Buzz - properly known as Colonel W.A.Russell Smith - was my great
uncle and very popular with all his nephews and nieces. He never married
and lived in a little cottage in Little Hampton in Sussex. Very sadly he
died in a tragic road accident that was not his fault when out driving.
This was 25 years ago - 25th March 1981. As your mother will tell you he
looked after his mother, my great grandmother Helen Russell Smith , until
she died at almost 100 years old.
