ACF writes: 1825 moved to London, later gives his address, possibly at time of publication of JR's book, which was 1863, as 3, Doddington Grove, Kennington Park, Newington, Lambeth. Family was there at 1851 and 1861 census.
1851 census , a Henry Somers was Nephew, surgeon in 8th Hussars, born 1820 Ireland. Was he relation of wife ? He is mentioned in Regimental History as being surgeon with regiment at Charge of Light Brigade, Crimean War.
1871 census was at 11 Siston Rd with unmarried dau Isabella and Gr Neice Mary Gordon(25) presumably the Mary Gordon b 1843 Drumblade (Kintore Fr's)

Alexander was asked by a deputation of Highlanders to become the next Chief of Clan Fraser (remember this can be an elected NOT hereditary position) but in spite of majority support he turned this down saying that the clan would be better served by the Chieftainship going to the one with Title and Money, Thomas of Strichen. A disappointed Highlander slapped the new Chief on the shoulder saying "Tam, Tam, they've got the wrong man!"
