said to be by Ld Lovat but unlikely. No Historic Records of the twins William and Simon, only two independent family manuscripts of 18thC memoirs
Sent to Brigellis by Earl of Fife. (interestingly nearby is Elphinstone, Primrose's mother Elizabeth was an Elphinstone). Could have changed his christian name.
