THE FULL STORY

When Lister got drunk, he really got drunk.
"After celebrating his birthday with a Monopoly-board pub crawl around London, he came to in a burger bar on one of Saturn's moon(Titan), wearing a ladies pink crimplene hat, a pair of yellow fishing waders, with no money and a passport in the name of 'Emily Berkenstein'.

Joining the Space Corps seemed a good idea. Red Dwarf, a gigantic red trash can that doubled as a mining ship, was bound for Earth. It never made it, leaving Lister as the last remaining human, three million years from Earth, with only a dead man, a senile computer and a highly evolved cat for company.

They begin their journey home. On the way they'll break the Light Barrier. They'll meet Einstein, Archimedes, God and Norman Wisdom.... and discover an alternative plane of reality.

IWCD is like all the books, well written, very funny sometimes crazy in a way that only Red Dwarf is.
I can not recommend this enough, other than to say ""READ NOW""

I can't decide which book is best out of all of them, but I'm half way though re-reading IWCD and I'm still impressed and I have read it 3 times already since buying it.

"LISTER IS LOST"

"Three Million years from Earth he's marooned in a world created by his own psyche. For Lister it's the most dangerous place he could possibly be because he is completely happy.

Rimmer has a problem too. He's dead. But that's not the problem. Rimmer's problem is he's trapped in a landscape created by his own subconscious. And Rimmer's subconscious doesn't like him one little bit.

Together with Cat, the-best dressed entity in all six know universes, and Kryten, a sanitation Mechanoid with a missing sanity chip, they are trapped in the ultimate computer game: Better Than Life. The zenith of computer game technology, BTL transports you directly to a perfect world of your imagination, a world where you can enjoy fabulous wealth and unmitigated success.

It's the ideal game with only one drawback - it's so good, it will kill you"

Returning from a excursion to the Fourth Universe, the Red Dwarf crew stumble upon across a spaceship identical to their own.
It soon transpires that Rimmer made a minute error in the sub light-speed drive calculations - forgetting to carry a two - and as a consequence the Dwarfers have accidentally harnessed super string theory, punched a hole in the space time continuum and arrived in a parallel reality.

When the crew board the ship to investigate they discover their own dead bodies - all, that is, except for Lister's.
Who has killed them and why?

The Last Human: the future of the species is in the hands of one man. And all he has to help are his wits, his cunning and a two page girdle section from a mail-order catalogue.

Last Human is the third of the hugely successful Red Dwarf novels based on the award winning BBC series.

Dave Lister has finally found his way back to planet Earth. Which is good.

What's bad is that time isn't running in quite the right direction. And if he doesn't get off the planet soon, he's going to have to go through puberty again. Backwards.

Still, his crew mates have come to rescue him. Which is good.

What's bad is that they consist of a robot with a hyperactive guilt chip, a creature who evolved from cats, and a dead man. And if they fail, Lister will carry on growing younger until he becomes a baby, then an embryo... And finally, He'll meet a very sticky end indeed.

Rejoin the trepid band of spare zeroes from Red Dwarf and Better Than Life - Lister, Rimmer, Kryten, Holly and Cat - as they continue their epic journey through frontal-lobe-knotting realities where none dare venture but the bravest of the brave, the boldest of the bold or the feeblest of the feeble-minded

Very Good Book (FULL STOP)

I even have the Hardback version which cost me 10 quid, worth it anyhow.

A last word from the Final Caretaker of humankind?

In other words, A DWARFEER'S GUIDE TO EVERYTHING?
