Strawberry Fields meeting plan

AN URGENT meeting has been called to determine the future of Lyme Regis's controversial Strawberry Field site.

Hopes that the hilltop beauty spot can still be used for sports pitches by the local football club are still alive.

Councillors have been told that up to 50 per cent funding could be available from the Football Association - but time is running out.

On Wednesday members of the town council's policy committee agreed that its own working group should hold urgent talks with football club officials and West Dorset's chief planning officer to consider the best way forward

Coun Ken Dibben said they needed to get all parties around the table quickly as the Football Association money was a "diminishing sum".
