LYME'S Strawberry Field is to become home to a new allotment.

The town council is establishing new plots on a section of the field in response to high demand for plots at the Charmouth Road Allotments.

The council wrote to everyone on the waiting list and the 19 people who responded will be the first holders on the new plots.

The council will establish a new Allotment Association to hopefully launch by January.
