This is the trip where new friendships are made and plans will be hatched for 2010. As always, we'll meet up at the Little Chef (SY13 1JZ) on the Whitchurch Bypass, where the A495 turns off for Ellesmere, no later than 8.45am for a 9am departure, fuel up as you arrive............more info

May 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th - 'THE SCOTTISH 1 HIGHLAND TOUR 2010'. - The plan is to meet up as usual North of Penrith at 08:45 prompt on Saturday morning. Away 9.00am from the only services on the A74(North bound) north of Carlisle. If you get as far as the M74 at Gretna you've gone too far. The services are now apparently open as a Petrol Station {Shell I think} and a Costa Coffee, it's just after the old HGV weigh bridge (ring me if you want suggestions for Friday night digs on 07768 405222). From the meeting point we'll take an interesting route up through the Scottish Borders before Crossing the Clyde around dinner time. Then it's over some stunning passes to our first Hotel (NEW DIGS) overlooking the shores of Loch Fyne. After a good meal and a wee drink we'll rise the next morning to head up the West Coast via a spectacular route to Applecross. This is a truly spectacular trip well worth the effort. It's always over booked and can only take a limited number due to the accommodation used. If you've done it before you know to be quick. If you’ve not done it before you should make an effort to be quicker still and secure your place on this fantastic tour. Most of the roads we use North of Glasgow are grin factor 9+..........more info

July 3rd to 13th 2010 - PYRES + STELLA ALPINA 2010 (The Long Way Round).- After a fantastic first trip last year we just had to do it one last time. Due to the port changes this is probably the last time we will run this trip with the ease of the long crossing to Bilbao, so if you have fancied doing it the best way possible get booked in this year. We will take the ferry crossing from Portsmouth on Saturday 3rd July (Be at the port for 5pm meet just before the ticket booths) to the Port of Bilbao in northern Spain. Here we will start our journey across the Pyrenean Ridge staying in wonderful locations as we meander our way from West to East through the Pyrenees. Then we start out across France taking in the stunning Millau Sky Bridge.before heading up into the Alps to join the Stella Alpina Rally. After the Rally we will loop north through the Alps before heading back through France to eventually catch the Ferry over to Dover around lunch time on Tuesday 13th July. This trip is the culmination of over 20 years traveling through these areas and will take in all the very best roads and sights along the way. As it may be the last ever it is most certainly not one to be missed.

August 26th - 5 Abbeys Sunday Service Run.

September 18th& 19th 2010. - 'THE NATIONAL COAST TO COAST RUN'. After a break of a couple of years, it was suggested that the Coast 2 Coast run be resurrected for 2010. Therefore it will be run as a 2 day tarmac ride, led by Ben Wheble, starting at Whitby, N.Yorks and finishing at Glasson Dock, Lancashire.

Day 1
Meeting place will be Whitby Railway Station leaving at 9.00 prompt and the Whistle Stop Tea Rooms have agreed to open early for us (7.30) for breakfasts etc. We will take in as many B roads and lesser as possible through N.York Moors and Dales to arrive in Hawes approx. 1800. Meet up in the evening will be 7.30ish in The Fountain Hotel on the High Street for meal and wee drinkies. ****Post code for Whitby meet is Whistle Stop Cafe. 1 Whitby Station,
Langbourne Road, YO21 1YN
****

Day 2
Depart from Station Car Park (8.45 for) 9.00. Route takes a circuitous course into Teeside and the Lake District to arrive Glasson Dock (near to M6Junc 33) at about 1700. ****Post Code for Hawes, Station Car Park (Ropemakers Yard) Burtersett Road, Hawes. DL8 3NT****

You will need to book your own accommodation in Hawes for the night of Sat 18th September and also Whitby for the Friday (if you so choose). Both towns have many B&Bs etc. plus there are nearby camping options for those more hardy types. email Ben for more info or coordinate sharing rooms. benwheble@blueyonder.co.uk In the past, this event has been one of the highlights of the BTBC calendar. The roads we will use are arguably the best in the country with little traffic and few revenue boxes. So, put this date in your diaries and with your support we can re-establish this as an annual event.

September 23rd 2007 (Sunday)- "John's Jovial Run"

October 22nd, 23rd & 24th - 'THE TOUR OF WALES 2 WEEKEND 2010'. - This is it, our last big weekend away for 2010. Always a good excuse to get the bike out one last time and definitely the way to make sure you have an exciting and active next year on your bike. This is the trip where new friendships are made and plans will be hatched for 2011. A new format this year as we never seem to have enough time to do all the really interesting lanes that Wales has to offer and I know many have a night out near Whitchurch anyway. So the plan is to meet up on Friday Morning. Then we'll take to the back roads to arrive about 5pm at some fabulous DIGS near the East Coast. After what is always a good night, Saturday morning we'll take a nice relaxed day to do the far west of Wales and maybe even a few easy trails (Road alternative available) weather permitting before again hitting our digs for another night of fun. Sunday morning we will rise and use a different rout back towards the boarder using more top lanes..............more info
