Aims

The four main aims of this project are:

1. To complete a more detailed hand specimen and geochemical analysis of the stones at the site than has been carried out before.

2. To find the provenance area of the stones and confirm its location using geochemical analyses to corroborate field work.

3. To provide a more detailed map of the stone circles.

The recent surveys have revealed more stones at the site than was previously thought to have been there as buried stones were definitely seen for the first time. My aim is to produce a map that not only shows the position but also the lithology of each stone as well.

4. To offer some explanation for the alteration of the local Triassic alluvial fan deposits into a siliceous rock.
