Om (god)

Omnism is the official and only religion of the country of Omnia. The religion has a very… unique theology. Most of it involves going to various hells for all eternity, after being forced to cross a ridiculously long desert. As well as that, they think the world is round, because a sphere is obviously the perfect shape. As to why people on the underside fall off, they claim that special arrangements must have been made. They think the purpose of life is to be as uncomfortable as possible, ie pious. They think Om is the only god and get very disagreeable if someone says otherwise.

One might say, "Why do people stand for these kind of loonies?" The answer can be summed up in one statement: The omnians have figured out a way to keep you alive for hours after they've pulled out your intestines. They are masters of the art of torture, with the inquisition being better than most spy and military institutions combined. They have a very large army and fleet. And they have no qualms about marching across the desert to kill someone. At lest, the commanders who stay at home in big comfy chairs have no qualms about it.

Om himself couldn't care less about this. To him, humans are simply good for providing worship, the real food of the gods. Anytime Om does something useful, it's to keep the faith. Om has no anthropomorphic incarnation, preferring to show himself as a pair of glowing horns or something impressive like that. However, Om does have a soft spot for turtles, being trapped as one for several years until the coming of the prophet Brutha (a very nice person, considering he's omnian) and learned just what it's like to be four inches off the ground and have a dismal overland rate.

The local Dibbler of Omnia is Cut-Me-Own-Throat Diblah, seller of suspicious sweet meats, oddly colored dates, and yogurt on a stick.
