Featured in the novel 'Feet of Clay', Dorfl was the first golem on the Discworld to develop consciousness and circumvent the 'words in his head'. He has since become a committed atheist and can often be seen arguing loudly with many of the less compromise-minded priests of Ankh Morpork (ie all of them).
